I'm that West Londoner who never learned to stay in her lane musically - and I'm not sorry about it.
My family literally breathes music, so I grew up absorbing most genres that came my way. High Church hymns, country, 80's rock, Arabic maqams, Japanese folk, Ragga, Vivaldi, Metal, Gospel - if it moved me, it became part of my sound. Being mixed South Asian with Christian roots meant I was always collecting influences like they were treasures.
I actually thought I'd be a visual artist originally, but my art teacher had other ideas about my "talent." Turns out singing rescued me from that crushing reality. So I poured everything into my voice instead, and honestly? Best plot twist ever!
All that musical diversity prepared me to tackle life's complexity in my songwriting. I write from my own experiences - the messy, uncomfortable stuff I've lived through. Mental health struggles, toxic relationships, the kind of perfectionism that was slowly killing me, addiction, self-harm, betrayal, intrusive thoughts, bullying, domestic violence, the lasting impact of eating disorders - all the weight I've carried on this journey. My writing inspiration has been shifting recently, and I've genuinely started exploring love, faith, and finding light in the darkest places. I write about the full spectrum of what it means to be human - the beautiful and the broken parts.
My album Sincerely Yours has been brewing for a decade - all these songs born from my messiest, most beautiful moments. Earlier this year, losing someone young reminded me that we don't get unlimited time to share what matters. So here I am, finally putting my heart on display, hoping these songs find the people who need to hear them.
My vibe? Big vocals, bigger heart. I throw blues rock, gospel, country, 80s bangers, and whatever else feels right into a blender and somehow it works.
Why I do this? Because music saved me when I was drowning, and maybe my songs can be someone else's life raft.
No boxes. No limits. Just real music for real feelings.
Collaboration has shaped my music journey in the most meaningful way. Everyone I’ve written or produced with has connected emotionally to the process. Working with producers and musicians who truly relate to a track—often because of shared experiences—has given each song more depth, life, and purpose. The experience has been priceless!
